2D Wash 2011 Rhythm and Repetition

Rhythm and repetition are two key principles of art. They usually work in sync to really add unity and draw your eye through the piece that you are working on.
Here are some examples of this:

Although I'm am not a big fan of Van Gough and his impressionism, Starry Night does show a great deal of rhythm and repetition, done soley by his use of brush strokes

Dali's Galatea of The Spheres shows a lot of repetition to add not only emphasis, but unity as well
Your eye get drawn all around the piece, and is a terrific piece to show this example.

An artist must use both Repetition and Rhythm in just the right balance to create truely great unified art.
